More about the CAA Accreditation Modules

Support and Help

You receive ongoing support and mentoring throughout your journey towards accreditation and a discount on any courses being run by the CAA to support you or your team’s professional development.

As well as phone support, you’ll also receive a site visit and access to policies and documents to help make the process as efficient and streamlined as possible for you. The accreditation team will take time to get to know you and help you plan the most appropriate path to ensure you gain full accreditation in a way and to a timescale that suits you and your organisation.

Compliance

Once the Compliance module is completed you can use the CAA member logo with pride and you can progress through the remaining modules in the order that you choose.

The compliance module ensures that all members of the CAA have appropriate legal and health and safety policies in place. There are just 5 parts to the compliance module that members need produce evidence for.  This evidence is scanned and uploaded to the website to prove compliance.  We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that CAA members are operating responsibly.

The documents we ask for ensure:

1. The member has appropriate policies in place around safeguarding, data protection etc.

2. There is clear accountability for all areas of the organisation.

3. Security procedures are in place and fit for purpose.

4. Records of resources exist and are maintained to facilitate regular checks of resources and equipment for safety reasons.

5. All appropriate legal and insurance documents are up to date (e.g insurance certificates, DBS certificates).

All documents must be kept current and updated/reviewed annually.

Training

The training module ensures that all members of the CAA have appropriate training in place for staff and franchisees. Most of this evidence will be uploaded digitally but it is likely that the site visit will include inspection of training either in person or via video.  We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that CAA members are providing the appropriate training for the people delivering the programme.

The documents we ask for ensure:

1. The training venue is appropriate and well-resourced

2. The trainees are given all required information about the course in an appropriate manner and timeframe

3. The content of the training course is appropriate, sufficient and accessible by the trainees with transparent pass/fail criteria

4. The training course is appropriately moderated by suitably qualified person and all aspects of moderation are transparent and fair

5. Tutors delivering the training are suitably qualified and external assessment procedures are appropriate

Programme

The Programme module ensures that all members of the CAA have produced a well-designed, developmentally appropriate programme. The evidence for the programme is uploaded digitally. We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that CAA members have developed an activity programme that will engage and stimulate children’s development and that it is inclusive and accessible.

The documents we ask for ensure:

1. The member has a written programme that meets the needs of the age group for which it has been developed

2. The programme is inclusive

3. The programme is regularly reviewed and updated with adequate feedback procedures

4. The programme is progressive and includes objectives and measurable outcomes

5. The programme fits into National Standards for the specific activity

Delivery

The Delivery module ensures that all members of the CAA are delivering the programme in an engaging, accessible manner.  Some of this evidence will be uploaded digitally but it is likely that the site visit will include inspection of at least one observation of the delivery of a session either in person or via video. We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that CAA members are delivering high quality sessions that children enjoy.

The evidence we ask for ensures:

1. The sessions have an appropriate structure (e.g. time allowed for warm ups etc)

2. Materials used are in good condition and maintained

3. Logistics and requirements for the sessions are not unreasonable and communicated to parents appropriately

4. Children are engaged throughout the session

5. There are suitable adult-child ratios to enable children to engage fully and receive attention as needed to participate in the session

Customer Service

The Customer Service module ensures that all members of the CAA are sensitive to the needs of their users (parents and children) and that the members have appropriate procedures in place to ensure users feel valued and have a voice in the organisation.  Most of this evidence will be uploaded digitally but it is likely that the site visit will include discussions with service users.  We have worked hard to make sure this is as simple as possible whilst being as comprehensive as necessary to give parents the peace of mind that CAA members are operating with high levels of customer satisfaction.

The evidence we ask for ensures:

1. The member actively seeks feedback from users

2. The member communicates clearly, appropriately and regularly with parents about the activity

3. That there is a comprehensive complaints procedure and that complaints are dealt with effectively

4. User are actively involved in any governing body or advisory board
